Bux.to | Get Paid to View Ads

I joined bux.to back in January 2008. I don’t remember the exact date I started, but I had seen an article by Chris Pirrilo highlighting the site and thought it was interesting. The idea is that you get paid one cent for every ad you view (you have 20-30 new ads each day and when you click on one you have to leave the browser window open for 30 seconds before moving on to the next.) So… 20-30 cents a day doesn’t sound too exciting, but you can pay to be a premium member and then your up to 1.25 cents per ad. Still it’s not overwhelming. What IS interesting is that you get 1.25 cents per referral ad view as well (if you’re premium, just 1 cent if you’re a standard member.) It’s worth noting that you only earn from one generation of referrals here. Since they seem to have lots of people signing up without signing up as someones referral, they also “sell” packages of unreferred members for about a dollar a member.

Good Self Management Plugin for Firefox

One of the things I see a lot in myself and others is that it’s easy when working online to spend half a day in the routine of checking stats, looking at earnings, looking at more stats, reading news, checking email and before you know it you haven’t accomplished anything productive on the day. You are halfway through the day, but haven’t started on the real work. You’re just pushing bits back and forth. Well, I just ran across this handy little add-on or extension called MeeTime. The idea is that it tracks and categorizes your online web browsing time into categories so you can see what kind of time each is consuming. (In some ways I’m afraid to install this. I don’t know if I WANT to see how much time I’m spending checking adsense earnings

Fighting Ad Blindness

If you have a website that sells adspace, or has text ads you’ve probably heard the term “ad blindness”. (If you haven’t heard it you should think about the concept.) The idea is that people regularly seeing ads ultimately become desensitized to them and “tune them out”. In terms of web pages that means they may ignore entire sections of the page, text in certain colors, whatever appears to their experience to be an advertisement. I’ve even known people to miss out on page navigation if it’s on the right hand side of the page because they are just used to ads being over there and don’t pay attention to that area (we may explore that idea a bit more later….)
What kinds of things can be done to fight ad blindness?

Earn Money Taking Paid Surveys

I’ve seen a number of sites that charge you a “subscription” of as much as $40 a month or so to give you information on survey opportunities online. Now, frankly existing for the sole purpose of filling out surveys online, doesn’t appeal greatly to me. But, if you need a bit of extra money it could be worthwhile. I have found a site though, that will connect you to service for FREE… surveylot.com Just starting to take a look today as I write this, but it looks like there’s some potential here to pick up a few extra dollars.

Getting web traffic through Article Submissions

I’ve talked before about how web traffic is really THE secret to making money online. No matter what your business model is, if you don’t have traffic you don’t 1)sell product, 2)sell ads, 3)refer to affiliate programs, 4)have anybody to click ads 5)generate leads …etc etc. Anyway, article writing and submission is something that is a bit hard to do. We’re 100% putting energy into OUR OWN sites, why do we need to post articles on someone ELSE’s site? (Answer: because you don’t get enough traffic on YOUR OWN site!) So, what are some of the good article directories?

Clickbank and Adwords is it a Scam?

A while back I did an experiment with Clickbank and Adwords. The idea was to place ads on Adwords for products int he Clickbank catalog. The ads would be relatively cheap and I could convert referrals to the Clickbank products which would bring in $30 or more each (adword ads could be had as low as several cents.) There are lots of people that have made this work, it’s like setting up money machines right? Well, I’ll tell you that at first it seemed like a scam of the worst order. I was spending a lot of money on ads and no conversions. Then I started improving my ad copy.

Picking Googles Brain on Search Trends

I REALLY like this. Anything that can give you more information on what and where people are searching for information online….. priceless. This is a great fountain of information that you can use to your advantage to gain traffic and understand what it is that people are searching for on the largest search network on the planet. Basically what I’m excited about is Google Search Insights Go there, enter in search terms your interested in and see what the search volume is, where the most searches are coming from, etc.

Free Web Directory Submissions offer Real Results for Getting Traffic

I’ve had an interesting time this afternoon going through and comparing numbers from several places. I try not to get bogged down in statistics. (Google Analytics gives GREAT information, but you could loose DAYS there analyzing it.) It is good to just see what things you’re doing seem to affect your traffic and that’s exactly what I was analyzing. I have several sites that I had finished free directory submissions through Directory Maximizer I love their service – you pay 14 cents per submission, can have multiple anchors/description for your site, keep track of where the site’s been submitted, pace submissions…. anyway back to the point at hand:

Take advantage of the New Year to Re-evaluate goals and priorities

This is the time of year for New Year’s resolutions. In some ways I roll my ideas of this being the only chance you have to change course. I mean… if that’s your attitude you are setting yourself up for a good chance at failure. I DO think it is good to take ANY opportunity you can to sit down and analyze what you’re goals were, how you’ve made progress towards them, what worked, what didn’t and what you can do to make things work better. (Or what your NEW goals need to be.) I think new years, new months, even new weeks can be good chances for this kind of evaluation, but to tell you the truth, we get into a routine and it takes a new year to shake many of us into the realization that time is passing quickly.

Online Brainstorming | Mindmapping | Flow Charting

Oh… this is a great link. bubbl.us gives you the ability to do free online flow charting. Well, you could call it bubble charts as well. These are GREAT for brainstorming ideas for one. They’re also fantastic for illustrating a variety of prongs of a strategy. So many times I feel like I have thousands of “threads” of ideas scattering out in 20 directions. Bubble.us is a great place to chart and map all those ideas so you can really make them more concrete and help you track your progress in implementing them. GREAT site!

Increased Site Traffic From Social Bookmarking

Not too long ago I was looking for ways to have a site submitted to lots of social bookmarking sites. I have, of course, bookmarked many of my own pages in bookmarking services along with the other sites I visited, but was curious to see what impact a concerted “bookmarking campaign” might have.
I observed some interesting things from it….

Make Money Offline with your Online Knowledge

It’s really easy to get wrapped up in making money online, to do freelancing with contacts across the world. You have your earn money blog, you get focused on your referral commissions, your advertising revenue and you forget that there are businesses in the local area that could use some of your hard won internet marketing skills to get better visibility.
With the kinds of things that you have to learn to succeed with a product (or advertising supported site) online you can develop quite a valuable skill set.

Privacy Policy Generator

If you use adsense on your sites, you will know that they now require a Privacy Policy and with their new move to interest based advertising it’s time to update your privacy policy. (grumble…) I know it’s a tedious pain in the neck, but I’ve just updated the privacy policy across about 15 or so sites with the help of a privacy policy generator that looks as though the wording should be sufficient. You get to declare the site name, email contact address and which advertising services you may use and it spits out something nice for you to copy and paste into a privacy policy page.
The autogenerator can be found here. It’s worth keeping the bookmark for it as this is a tremendously useful tool for when you do need to update your privacy policy and don’t want to spend serious time writing it yourself.

Early May Adsense Earnings Update

As you probably know, one of the things that I do with my websites is earn money online with Adsense. I’ve spent the last six months or so putting into place some ideas and techniques that I have learned on my own, about three months ago I came across someone who essentially has done the same thing for a couple years and is earning quite well via adsense (with a few additional twists.) Very few people are very upfront about how much they earn with adsense and what their main earning niches are. I’ve somewhat struggled with this myself. Do I tell everything about what and how I do as well as how much I make and where it comes from? Or do, I become mum on the main technique that has made this earn money blog possible? I may explore that dilemma in a post a bit later on, but I thought I’d bring you up to date on where I am vis-a-vis my adsense earnings.

Posting Schedule or why I won’t be Posting Every Day

Once upon a time I had a site that was making a good deal of money with adsense. It was thrilling, exciting and in retrospect I suspect it was because I was posting ALL the time. At the peak (had a couple $30 days and one $60 day) I was posting dozens of entries a day. First thing I would do is skim news headlines in my RSS feed reader and look for “post worthy” stories and then I’d comment, elaborate, collate and keep chasing the same thing all day. This was from getting out of bed, to heading to bed. It was in a word exhausting. I couldn’t keep that pace up and the earnings trailed off, then Google changed their search algorithm and the remaining traffic collapsed leaving me with less than a dollar each day in income. My other work at that time was busy enough that I didn’t have time to do much to figure out what happened, on top of that I was disappointed and didn’t really want to think about it.

Global Translator Plugin for Wordpress and Google Adsense

I’ve made use of the Global Translator Plugin for Wordpress for some time now across several of my sites and among other things I have found that I do get quite a bit of international traffic from it. I also notice that as it builds the translation of your site you will start getting internationalized ads which is good (nothing worse than a page in Spanish or French and English language ads, you KNOW that’s not effective for your earnings.)
I doubt I’m making an awful lot of money off of the other languages because I suspect that English language ads to the US/Canada UK and Australia/New Zealand are probably the best paying ad groups.

North Carolina Poised to Squash affiliate Marketers….

I’m somewhat depressed today. My homestate, the state of my family since the late 1700s seems poised to enact legislation that will essentially squash a growing part of my annual income, namely affiliate sales. This is income that I pay state and federal income taxes on already, but apparently THAT tax revenue is not enough. Here is the email I received from amazon.com today:

North Carolina Tax Plan Strangling Some Small Businesses

This is the second time that I’ve written about the North Carolina proposed budget which, in it’s current form, would expand the concept of business nexus to include those companies that have one or more affiliates within the state. Since the last time I wrote I have had a 13 year business relationship with Amazon.com terminated by Amazon out of their opposition to this initiative and through NO action of my own. I’m also finding out that textbooks.com has similarly terminated North Carolina affiliates. I doubt these will be the only two. I am writing here today out of frustration. In the last two weeks I have contacted my State Senator for the first time in my life over this issue because it directly affects me and my ability to earn a livelihood. I have heard NO response from my state Senator Martin Nesbitt. On that count I am disappointed to not receive at the very least a “thank you for contacting us” form response. I have become aware thought that my State Senator is not the only politician that seems to be ignoring input on this matter.
Last night in the forums at ABestweb.com the following was posted with regards to Senator Clodfelter:
Here’s how much Senator Clodfelter cares what the people of North Carolina think:

This is the digital equivalent of “stuff it” the way I see it. His mind is already made up.
More disturbing to me is the quote from our Governor Bev Perdue at the end of this video interview…. She essentially says… “I would be very surprised at the end of the day if any of any of the major distributors that do it in a clickthrough technology kind of format, refuse to sell to people in the state that’s going to be the seventh largest in America.” Yes…. well…. either she is misrepresenting what this law will do or has no clue as to what all the fuss is about. Amazon is not talking about NOT SELLING to North Carolina, the tax clearly says that if they reward people in the state of North Carolina with a commission for referring sales they will have to collect sales tax on those purchases, so…. Amazon is dropping it’s financial reward to residents for referring sales. Amazon will still sell to people in the state of North Carolina, they will just avoid that little bit about having to collect the Sales tax.
I have 13 years worth of links distributed among many sites that promote products at amazon. I no longer will receive any compensation for those 13 years of work thanks to this initiative. The state will lose out on the affiliate revenue that has made up to 20% of my yearly income. It was taxable income and has been reported every year. The state is losing out on this in their attempt to pin down any source of income they can.
It’s not about Amazon not selling to us. I suspect that Amazon is rather eager to see the “up to 15%” that it paid to affiliates in their own coffers…. Not only will they not be collecting the state tax, their profit margin has just gone up a bit. Now, there are other affiliate programs out there, but for your reading enjoyment (?!) I will include the text in question from the proposed budget….
SECTION 27C.2.(b) The catch line of G.S. 105-164.8 reads as rewritten:“§ 105-164.8. Retailer’s obligation to collect tax; mail order remote sales subject to tax.”SECTION 27C.2.(c) G.S. 105-164.8(b) reads as rewritten:“(b) Mail Order Remote Sales. – A retailer who makes a mail order remote sale isengaged in business in this State and is subject to the tax levied under this Article if at least oneof the following conditions is met:(1) The retailer is a corporation engaged in business under the laws of this Stateor a person domiciled in, a resident of, or a citizen of, this State.(2) The retailer maintains retail establishments or offices in this State, whetherthe mail order remote sales thus subject to taxation by this State result fromor are related in any other way to the activities of such the establishments oroffices.(3) The retailer has representatives in this State who solicit business or transactbusiness on behalf of the retailer, solicits or transacts business in this Stateby employees, independent contractors, agents, or other representativeswhether the mail order remote sales thus subject to taxation by this Stateresult from or are related in any other way to such the solicitation ortransaction of business. A retailer is presumed to be soliciting or transactingbusiness by an independent contractor, agent, or other representative if theretailer enters into an agreement with a resident of this State under which theresident, for a commission or other consideration, directly or indirectly referspotential customers, whether by a link on an Internet Web site or otherwise,to the retailer, if the cumulative gross receipts from sales by the retailer topurchasers in this State who are referred to the retailer by all residents withthis type of agreement with the retailer is in excess of ten thousand dollars($10,000) during the preceding four quarterly periods. This presumptionmay be rebutted by proof that the resident with whom the retailer has anagreement did not engage in any solicitation in the State on behalf of theseller that would satisfy the nexus requirement of the United StatesConstitution during the four quarterly periods in question.(4) Repealed by Session Laws 1991, c. 45, s. 16.(5) The retailer, by purposefully or systematically exploiting the marketprovided by this State by any media-assisted, media-facilitated, ormedia-solicited means, including direct mail advertising, distribution ofcatalogs, computer-assisted shopping, television, radio or other electronicmedia, telephone solicitation, magazine or newspaper advertisements, orother media, creates nexus with this State.(6) Through compact or reciprocity with another jurisdiction of the UnitedStates, that jurisdiction uses its taxing power and its jurisdiction over theretailer in support of this State’s taxing power.(7) The retailer consents, expressly or by implication, to the imposition of thetax imposed by this Article. For purposes of this subdivision, evidence that aretailer engaged in the activity described in subdivision (5) shall be is primafacie evidence that the retailer consents to the imposition of the tax imposedby this Article.(8) The retailer is a holder of a wine shipper permit issued by the ABCCommission pursuant to G.S. 18B-1001.1.”
The above text (including strikethroughs) reflects the currently available release of the bill from ncleg.net (pages 268/269).
Section 3 above is the main sticking point “A retailer is presumed to be soliciting or transactingbusiness by an independent contractor, agent, or other representative if theretailer enters into an agreement with a resident of this State under which theresident, for a commission or other consideration, directly or indirectly referspotential customers, whether by a link on an Internet Web site or otherwise,to the retailer, if the cumulative gross receipts from sales by the retailer topurchasers in this State who are referred to the retailer by all residents withthis type of agreement with the retailer is in excess of ten thousand dollars($10,000) during the preceding four quarterly periods.”
Can you tell me what kind of advertising deal would NOT be covered by this? for commission or other consideration – directly or indirectly refers potential customers by link on a web site (sorry… internet web site) to the retailer…. okay Google – people now advertising through adwords will need to know whether the site the ad displayed upon was run by a North Carolina member of adsense… that’s an indirect referral through a link on an “internet web site” isn’t it? IN fact any advertising on a site owned by a North Carolina would be subject to it IF the total yearly gross receipts from state residents and referred through state residents amounted to more than $10,000….
I think you’re beginning to see why many affiliate programs would rather just pull the plug than have to sort through this nonsense.
Affiliate related income has been a quickly growing portion of my yearly income. As much as 20% in this last year. I did have plans that it would become the majority of my flow of income. However, it appears as though, if this passes, in order to do that I will have to consider leaving a state that I was born in. Leaving a state that my family has called home for around 200 years or more. As my Meniere’s Disease acts up endangering my ability to do my OTHER jobs I had put quite a bit of hope in my abilities to develop multiple streams of online income to supplement and fill the gaps of what I, at times, am just unable to do anymore. The state of North Carolina in it’s great (and frankly making up for years of mismanaged budgets) is about to put an end to that for me.
I have signed the Petition against this section of the proposed budget and encourage you to find your representation’s contact information at the General Assembly. They are currently in negotiations between the Senate and House to compromise on the budget. The Senate version of bill 202 is what was presented above. I don’t think the text exists in the House version. As I understand it, there were about 9 votes that needed to be swayed to remove the affiliate tax. Frankly though from what I’ve seen, I’m not overly optimistic. From Senators deleting messages on the topic unread and simply not responding, to a Governor that seems to have NO CLUE as to what the issue at hand is….. it looks as though they will go along with the “Projection” of it bringing in 12-18 million in extra revenue for the state and let the chips (North Carolina Affiliates) fall where they may.
What’s really frustrating about this (as if there isn’t enough) is that it seems that Barnes and Noble may be lobbying for this (seeing the pain it would cause Amazon…) Amazon is lobbying against. In the final sum the only people that will come out the losers are the citizens of the state with fewer options for earning either an honest living or simply enough to cover their webhosting fees, or an extra dinner out once a month. Some use affiliate revenue for their entire income and North Carolina seems content to shut such small businesses down without batting an eye.
Thanks for nothing Raleigh.
I have made this post take up the full frontpage on purpose. I want all that can to see what our state government is doing. I assure you that if you are in the United States ours will not be the last state to push this kind of a tax.
If you want to follow the discussion on twitter the hashtag #ncaffiliatetax has been used for these discussions….
Pitchforks anyone?
Update — 12:12pm
I just found out overstock.com is preparing to terminate North Carolina associates as well.
Update — 4:42pm
Another link to more information on the matter
Update — 7:41PM
Here is a more complete list of companies that have cut off North Carolina affiliates:
Amazon.com, textbooks.com, overstock.com (they may not have pulled the trigger, but have announced that they will), CSN (cable shopping network(?)), fingerhut, blue nile, shop nbc, cabela’s, Dr.s Foster and Smith.
I have read of several people that are moving out of state to continue their business elsewhere. All in all, it looks like this is the death of affiliate marketing in our state.
I have had suggestions to incorporate in another state, but it appears that doing so and maintaining control of the corporation, while keeping residence here would essentially be tax evasion and I could be pursued by the state for that (and possibly by the affiliate programs as well.)
The other option I see is either moving outright or establishing a business office in another state, which seems silly.
The more I read the text it sounds as though taxes must be collected not on all sales to North Carolina, but all sales made through affiliate links (where the affiliate link is “owned” by a North Carolina resident.) If that’s the case, then there is certainly the possibility of more than one state claiming the tax on that sale. (Say amazon is in CA and someone in CA clicks a link on my site (which is actually located in Utah in spite of my North Carolina residence….) Then the state of California claims they should pay sales tax (that’s where amazon.com is located) and North Carolina claims they should pay NC state sales tax because the “store” that referred them was based in North Carolina.
Update— July st 11:42 AM—
Musicians Friend is added to the list of affiliate programs that have axed NC businesses due to this pending law.
The more I read it – this may affect ANY advertising relationship – adsense (?) Essentially the language is broad enough to cover any kind of link for which the resident of North Carolina receives compensation. I think the only thing that might absolve adsense advertisers is that they have not entered into an agreement directly with the resident of NC, they entered into an agreement with google.
But what of other paid advertising on blogs? On news sites? ? What bothers me is that I’ve seen people say that it depends on how narrowly or broadly they want to interpret it. That’s a bad sign…. if they think they need more money they may just try interpreting more broadly…. This text is NOT the way to collect sales tax on internet purchases.
And if it were considered broad enough to go after advertisers in googles adwords/adsense network and google decided to keep NC publishers in…. then would they have to track for their advertisers which clicks came through NC publishers so the business could then decide if it owes NC sales tax (regardless of where the business and client are from?) Talk about a nightmare of tracking – no wonder so many affiliate programs find it easier to just pull the plug.
–update 11:10PM July 1st–
Okay – the terminations continue from companies…. now cafepress is cutting off North Carolina affiliates. My account hasn’t been terminated (only because I haven’t filled in the required information to receive payment. – So it appears I can keep my account as long as I agree not to be paid. (!))
Also, it was discovered late this afternoon that The General Assembly Fiscal Research division did not calculate in their estimates the lost income tax revenue from affiliate programs cutting ties with NC residents. So, their projection of how much this law will bring in is missing a fairly critical facet. This could be a very useful point to emphasize in future contacts with legislatures – underscore not only the growing list of companies that are pulling out, AND the loss of income tax revenue that this means (which is not included in the Fiscal Research estimate).
It’s also been mentioned that some of the Senators/Representatives have somewhat of a chip on their shoulder re: Amazon and it’s been suggested not to highlight their pull out, but to emphasize the OTHER companies that are following.
Also, Hawaii and California have shot down similar measures today. Congrats to those states and hopefully NC will follow their lead.
Also – now I hear Oriental Trading has cut off North Carolina Affiliates.

Several Good Article Marketing Resources

Well… really this first tip can work for article marketing or for pretty much anything. I’ve struggled lately with the problem of finally having lot’s of time to work on my projects and had a hard time getting into a routine with them…. this article came along at just the right time. It talks about using a timer to “timebox” yourself. Basically, instead of telling yourself that you have all day to accomplish the task you set a bit less time than you really think it will take and use the incentive of beating the timer to get you moving. I’ve setup a few programs that can do timers for me and that’s helped immensely.
The other resources…. are a bit of a 101 and 102 to Article marketing…

How to earn money online with Adsense

So many good things are going on at the moment. I’ve had business that earn money online for quite some time, but I’m announcing a new site that is focused solely on how to earn money online with adsense. I’ve learned so much over the last several years I wanted to share it. I have shared some things here, but it seems to get lost in all the jumble.
So, I’m starting the new site in part to have a small narrow focus for that site and this can remain more general on basic ideas for earning money online. Another reason that I’m starting the new site is that I keep learning new things about adsense and how to approach trying to make money from adsense. Even though I think I’ve done well with adsense up until now, I have had a bit of a paradigm shift in my outlook on some of the ways I’ve been going about it up to now and, well… I think better days are yet to come. So, are the adsense earning reports still going to go here? Yes probably… speaking of which I think I need to update June and July now here – time has gotten away from me lately.
So, if everything goes right you’ll be looking for your very own private island resort in no time!

Outsourcing your Phone Calls with a Voice Blast or Voice Broadcast

So, it’s 1 PM. You have 10 people to call and they each have 3 phone numbers. You don’t know their work schedules, whether they’re at home or the office or even have their cell phone on. You don’t even know which one of these numbers they check frequently. You have an event scheduled with them all at 4 and need to let them know that you can’t come. Maybe it’s a car accident, maybe it’s a doctors’ appointment, maybe your flights been delayed. The prospect of 30 phone calls is pretty daunting though. Really, you’re giving everyone the same message anyway. You could email them, but will they get it before 4?
The best answer? Send a voice blast otherwise known as a voice broadcast to every number on the list. You’ll be done in a couple minutes and back to whatever crisis is keeping you from the meeting. It’s usually pretty cheap – less than 12 cents per completed call and easy to do. Upload your phone list via the web browser, record your message, schedule it’s delivery and launch. Some of these services even let you launch the voice message by phone if you already have your list uploaded.

The Perils of Search Engine Results in the era of Custom Search Results

I’ve got to say that this morning I woke up to a pleasant surprise. I’ve worked for several days on a web project, and had been working on some getting links to the page to see what would happen. Well, this morning I did a couple test searches and the page I had worked on was number one on Google. So, needless to say I was pretty pleased. Traffic to the page though, didn’t seem to reflect that placement. I had thought it was a higher traffic term than I was seeing. That’s strange. Then, I thought to do the search from another machine. My site was in sixth place. What? Maybe that’s pulling from a different datacenter….. so, I dug up a link to the datacenter comparison tools and sure enough the site is in 4-6 place EVERYWHERE. Which can only mean one thing. I was logged in to google when I did the search and saw the page I had worked on at number 1. I logged out and searched, number 6. I logged into a different google account, number 6. Logged back in to that google account, number 1.

MNCs outsource the research work to the survey filling companies and pay them huge amounts on the completion of the surveys. So these companies are constantly looking out for people who can take up the surveys and help them collect the required information. Here fits in your role. You can make money online by just taking paid surveys i.e. filling out survey forms, participating in discussion groups, taking paid telephone surveys. All you have to do is give your true opinion.
Be sure that you are being true while filling out surveys because if you do not give your true opinion eventually your account will be suspended. Also, make an email account other than your personal account where in you want surveys to pour in. Some of the websites directly send surveys to your email address rather than holding up surveys in their websites. Once you join these surveys filling sites, they flood your account. And you gain hot opportunity to make decent money online.
One more prerequisite to make things simpler for you is to get auto form filler software installed in your computer. Sometimes many of the surveys contain similar questions; this software can save a lot of your time by putting in the same answers to all the same questions. You can also use it to fill in your profile information when you join multiple sites.
Surveys are generally in the form of questionnaires. Each questionnaire is with a set of questions and you have to answer those questions putting forward your true opinion. The amount of money you make depends on the number of questions offered to you and also on the company you have been associated with and also on the type of consumer surveys you participate in. The pay ranges from $5 to $75 or even more for survey forms, $120 per hour for telephonic surveys and $150 or more for group discussions.
Some of the websites where in you can take on the free paid online surveys are OpinionWorldBusiness, InBox Dollars, Survey Savvy, Viva research, Survey4profit, JoinSurveys, SendEarnings, Cashcrate etc. These websites have vast network of participating companies such as coca cola, Dell computers, Pepsi, Panasonic, Sony, eBay, and the list goes on. These websites keep updating their database with new companies from time to time.
The problem that people usually face is of locating the good survey companies. When you use search engines to locate them you get random results with thousands of companies in the list. You will have to spend great deal of your time to find truly good places in order to make money filling out forms. And because of the time consuming feature of this option it is recommended to rule it out. You should rather use Internet forums where people share their experiences. This can give you an idea of how and where people make money filling out surveys. It will certainly be a better option than trying out dozens of low end paid survey websites that you come across through search engines.
There is yet another problem that come across people and that is of scams and frauds. In case you truly want to make money filling survey forms never join a site that asks you for an access fee or commission. Generally, fraud sites ask you for money and people in hope of earning more do pay them and sometimes they also hand over their credit card details considering them to be legitimate sites. And this is the scam and this is how they make money online. People pay out money to them and do not get anything or get very less money on completing the surveys. In the end they are rendered dissatisfied and ask for refund and at last they quit. The vacuum created is filled by new entrants. It is, then, a profitable business for those who conduct surveys and for whom the surveys are done but not for those who take up the surveys. For one more reason you should not enroll yourself with money demanding survey sites. It is the companies that need your opinion as a customer of their products and services and it’s you who can help them to sustain in the market. So it is you who should be paid money and not them.
Although the survey companies can help you make enormous money online but you should be cautious of the scams involved in here and should always try to work with legitimate companies. A bit of your research regarding the companies can help your purpose.

Making Money With Domain Names

There are many ways to make money online and one lucrative way is by buying and selling domain names. With just a cost of a $10 registration fee some have made thousands, even millions, on just one domain alone. If it were so easy then no one would need their day job and could be instantly living in the lap of luxury.
Before you start out on this moneymaking venture and pick just any name, remember the most valuable domain names are already taken. When selecting a domain name you have to consider its potential value. The best way is to analyze what the domain could be used for if someone were to build a website on it, the targeted buyer for it and would you yourself buy it for more than the registration fee let alone pay a considerable sum for it.
Start on a small scale. For example a $50 investment. You can either register a few new domains or find ones for sale that look promising and priced low enough. Sometimes there are domain sellers that are clearing out their portfolio or are in dire need of money which you could bargain with to get them cheaper. If you can make even $20 or $30 on each domain sale, then you are well on your way to making money with domain names. Once you get into the swing of things, you can get into the higher priced domains and make even bigger profit.
There are many places to buy and sell domain names like Sedo, GoDaddy Auctions, Snapnames, Aftermarket, NameJet, Moniker, as well as numerous webmaster forums. Especially in webmaster forums you can advertise for free and find some great deals. Once you have acquired these domain names you will either have to park them with a domain parking service, which most are free, or place a web page on it to help increase the value of the domain until you sell it.
Just like starting any online business, you have to do some research and look at the trends of what is being bought and sold plus findng the best places to market them. Always keep in mind that you want to buy low and sell high, and not get into the opposite trap where it could become a losing venture.
Many are successfully making money online with domain names and you can too.

My Name.com Account with 14 Premium Domains Hijacked

I’d three very hard days, 4 days back my gmail account was hacked somehow and then the hacker cracked my Name.com account from there. I’ve 14 premium domains at Name.com which I was about to lose when I got an automatic alert through Sucuri.net that syedaqeel.com is not available. Domain was giving a 500 internal page error, I thought hosting for that domain is down (its placed on a shared hosting account), I waited for syedaqeel.com to become available. SyedAqeel.com become available after 24 hours, I decided to move it to my dedicated server to avoid further down time.
When I tried to login to my name.com account to change DNS settings, and what I found was surprising, after many tries with right password I was not able to login and when I tried to reset my password it showed that an email is sent at your hotmail.com address.
I was shocked! Yes, email was sent to someone else’s email address, as I used a Gmail account with name.com. It was confirmed that my Name.com account is compromised. My first reaction was to check how it happen and to be true, its almost impossible to crack a name.com account with brute force type attacks, as name.com have very good security.
As I checked who is for syedaqeel.com and thewondrous.com I found that contact, billing and administrator information is changed and a person with name of “Abbas Shafiee” and company name “Yamobile”.
