Bux.to | Get Paid to View Ads

I joined bux.to back in January 2008. I don’t remember the exact date I started, but I had seen an article by Chris Pirrilo highlighting the site and thought it was interesting. The idea is that you get paid one cent for every ad you view (you have 20-30 new ads each day and when you click on one you have to leave the browser window open for 30 seconds before moving on to the next.) So… 20-30 cents a day doesn’t sound too exciting, but you can pay to be a premium member and then your up to 1.25 cents per ad. Still it’s not overwhelming. What IS interesting is that you get 1.25 cents per referral ad view as well (if you’re premium, just 1 cent if you’re a standard member.) It’s worth noting that you only earn from one generation of referrals here. Since they seem to have lots of people signing up without signing up as someones referral, they also “sell” packages of unreferred members for about a dollar a member.

Good Self Management Plugin for Firefox

One of the things I see a lot in myself and others is that it’s easy when working online to spend half a day in the routine of checking stats, looking at earnings, looking at more stats, reading news, checking email and before you know it you haven’t accomplished anything productive on the day. You are halfway through the day, but haven’t started on the real work. You’re just pushing bits back and forth. Well, I just ran across this handy little add-on or extension called MeeTime. The idea is that it tracks and categorizes your online web browsing time into categories so you can see what kind of time each is consuming. (In some ways I’m afraid to install this. I don’t know if I WANT to see how much time I’m spending checking adsense earnings

Fighting Ad Blindness

If you have a website that sells adspace, or has text ads you’ve probably heard the term “ad blindness”. (If you haven’t heard it you should think about the concept.) The idea is that people regularly seeing ads ultimately become desensitized to them and “tune them out”. In terms of web pages that means they may ignore entire sections of the page, text in certain colors, whatever appears to their experience to be an advertisement. I’ve even known people to miss out on page navigation if it’s on the right hand side of the page because they are just used to ads being over there and don’t pay attention to that area (we may explore that idea a bit more later….)

Earn Money Taking Paid Surveys

I’ve seen a number of sites that charge you a “subscription” of as much as $40 a month or so to give you information on survey opportunities online. Now, frankly existing for the sole purpose of filling out surveys online, doesn’t appeal greatly to me. But, if you need a bit of extra money it could be worthwhile. I have found a site though, that will connect you to service for FREE… surveylot.com Just starting to take a look today as I write this, but it looks like there’s some potential here to pick up a few extra dollars.

Getting web traffic through Article Submissions

I’ve talked before about how web traffic is really THE secret to making money online. No matter what your business model is, if you don’t have traffic you don’t 1)sell product, 2)sell ads, 3)refer to affiliate programs, 4)have anybody to click ads 5)generate leads …etc etc. Anyway, article writing and submission is something that is a bit hard to do. We’re 100% putting energy into OUR OWN sites, why do we need to post articles on someone ELSE’s site? (Answer: because you don’t get enough traffic on YOUR OWN site!) So, what are some of the good article directories?
