A while back I did an experiment with Clickbank and Adwords. The idea was to place ads on Adwords for products int he Clickbank catalog. The ads would be relatively cheap and I could convert referrals to the Clickbank products which would bring in $30 or more each (adword ads could be had as low as several cents.) There are lots of people that have made this work, it’s like setting up money machines right? Well, I’ll tell you that at first it seemed like a scam of the worst order. I was spending a lot of money on ads and no conversions. Then I started improving my ad copy.

Picking Googles Brain on Search Trends
I REALLY like this. Anything that can give you more information on what and where people are searching for information online….. priceless. This is a great fountain of information that you can use to your advantage to gain traffic and understand what it is that people are searching for on the largest search network on the planet. Basically what I’m excited about is Google Search Insights Go there, enter in search terms your interested in and see what the search volume is, where the most searches are coming from, etc.

Free Web Directory Submissions offer Real Results for Getting Traffic
I’ve had an interesting time this afternoon going through and comparing numbers from several places. I try not to get bogged down in statistics. (Google Analytics gives GREAT information, but you could loose DAYS there analyzing it.) It is good to just see what things you’re doing seem to affect your traffic and that’s exactly what I was analyzing. I have several sites that I had finished free directory submissions through Directory Maximizer I love their service – you pay 14 cents per submission, can have multiple anchors/description for your site, keep track of where the site’s been submitted, pace submissions…. anyway back to the point at hand:

Take advantage of the New Year to Re-evaluate goals and priorities
This is the time of year for New Year’s resolutions. In some ways I roll my ideas of this being the only chance you have to change course. I mean… if that’s your attitude you are setting yourself up for a good chance at failure. I DO think it is good to take ANY opportunity you can to sit down and analyze what you’re goals were, how you’ve made progress towards them, what worked, what didn’t and what you can do to make things work better. (Or what your NEW goals need to be.) I think new years, new months, even new weeks can be good chances for this kind of evaluation, but to tell you the truth, we get into a routine and it takes a new year to shake many of us into the realization that time is passing quickly.
